Today (Thursday) was a very good day out at the 20 acres! Beginning at 7:00 a.m. this morning, the concrete pour began on the building slab. Also, another section of the parking lot was poured. The building is divided up into three sections; the auditorium and foyer section, the children’s and office wing, and the adult/youth/fellowship wing. The slab that was poured today was to the latter section, the furthest back.
Much will be going on over the next few weeks as well. Beginning July 18, the concrete work will be complete and the metal building structure will begin arriving on site. This will take a few days. If everything goes as planned, the building should be going vertical within the next few weeks. This will be very exciting to see. Be sure to visit often either on site or this blog to watch the fast progress.

The first "slab" pour is underway this morning (June 30, 2011).
Thursday afternoon, the slab is complete and ready to cure in the Texas sun (shouldn't be a problem there). In the background, you see a portion of the parking lot that was poured last week.
